Have been in singapore for 12 days now, renting the guest room at Gille’s apartment - what a gorgeous man he his – and am getting into the rhythm of my residency. Pretty much no expectations of me from my hosts at Theatreworks so am spending my time meeting with people, reading, thinking, sleeping, and doing art stuff for Experimenta. I went to a CSTC meeting with Ralph Kerle and Kirpal Singh earlier this week to hear about the conference they’re organising in Malacca next May 09. Spent most of the next day with Ralph in various eating places around Singapore talking about work and creativity and ADD. Not sure what to make of the possibilities that are presenting themselves currently …. but in the meantime here are some pictures of my neighbourhood in Singapore and of the weird and wonderful Divine Wine Bar at Parkview Square – a building transplanted from Gotham City into downtown Singapore with a bar that has flying angel waitresses collecting wine from the 10 metre high wine cabinet. Gloriously monumental and fake and the folly of a Taiwanese business man.
